How Eturnity is Adapting to Give Installers Better Features, Faster
Six Months of Product Development with Eike Johann
Eturnity has been growing rapidly in the past years with great success, becoming the market leader in Switzerland and further expanding to the European market. Equally with a maturing market the customer requirements have risen. We take this on with ambition and thus transformed parts of our Product Development to build “the right features right”, with a renewed customer focus — a next step in supporting installers as they navigate the rapidly evolving green energy sector.
These improvements align with our journey with Eike Johann, who joined us as Chief Product Officer (CPO) in May. Eike brings over 15 years of expertise in renewable energy, including nine years with BKW AG, one of Eturnity’s own customers. There, he gained extensive experience as a Product Manager and Head of Smart Energy. His firsthand insights brought a fresh perspective to customer needs and have been pivotal in advancing our product vision.
What has changed?
May & JuneBuilding the Foundation
Early summer brought foundational changes with a new Product Team structure and introduced agile development approach. These updates were not just cosmetic but strategic, emphasizing efficiency, quality and responsiveness to meet both immediate and future installer needs. The new structure will allow us to accelerate feature development while staying aligned with what our daily users ask for.JulyCatching Issues Before They Reach You
In July, we expanded our Quality Assurance team to catch potential issues before they impact you. Focused on testing every detail, our QA team ensures that new features are thoroughly vetted, guaranteeing they are launched at the right time and in the right way – when both the product and users are fully ready and prepared.AugustListening to the Experts – Our Users
In August, we initiated a two-month customer survey to learn directly from our users which features matter most to them. The feedback gathered is now more than ever shaping our development roadmap. We already started implementing the first suggestions and will continue with our continuous release cycles.August - November7 New Partnerships to Expand Capabilities
Between August and November, we launched eight with top players in the solar industry, including Krannich, ESDEC, Electronic Partners (EP), Van der Valk, Waxman, Airteam and BMS Technologies. These collaborations bring new, integrated features to Eturnity, offering more ways to streamline the design & planning process of projects in one solution.OctoberElevating the User Experience
To make our software easier and more enjoyable to use, we recently brought more UX/UI design expertise to the team. This focus on the day-to-day user experience of installers allows us to refine both the functionality and look & feel of our platform.--> So, What’s Next?
Changing how we develop our software is reshaping Eturnity and the way we work. This renewed approach makes us faster, resilient and focused on delivering what you need, when you need it. And the proof is coming soon: in the next months we will launch the long-awaited string design feature along with our new shading analysis and new 3D layouting support tools to further improve the planning of larger C&I projects.
Eike's long-term vision
Leverage the latest tech to make the design & planning process as easy as possible, supported by intelligent design assistants like our automated inverter design feature. We aim to eliminate the need for juggling multiple tools by integrating Eturnity into the broader ecosystem you rely on for solar projects.
“Our goal is to create a completely seamless workflow for our users. We want Eturnity to support every part of the sales and planning process for photovoltaic systems.” – Eike Johann
